Linking to Full Text from Databases

  • Go to the Ruth Lilly Medical Library Databases page
  • Select the appropriate database and run the search. Use of IU's Pulse Secure SSL VPN client is recommended OR log into library resources using your IU username and passphrase (IU username and passphrase must be associated with the IU School of Medicine or may be associated with the IUPUI campus). For assistance with setting up the VPN, contact UITS at 317-274-4357
  • Look for Full Text links or the button
  • If an Article link is found, click to access the full text
  • A Journal link will require extra steps to locate a specific article
  • If there are no electronic full text links, under More full-text options - Use Interlibrary Loan Services to Request from Another Library and select the IU School of Medicine Libraries Document Delivery link and log in to ILLiad using your IU username and passphrase. The information about the desired article will appear in the form. Click Submit when finished.

Use Browzine or the A-Z Journals List to view or browse eJournals

Use Browzine to search our electronic journal collection by title, subject, or ISSN. Browse the Biological and Health Sciences to find titles within your specialty. On a mobile device, you will need to download the free app through the App Store or Google Play.

 

The A-Z Journals List

The A-Z Journals list includes paid Medical Library subscriptions and also includes journals that are freely accessible. The most effective way to locate a specific journal is to search using the first few words of the journal title. There may be several options, be sure to select the appropriate timespan.

Automatically Adding Full Text Articles to An EndNote Library

Accessing Full Text via Google Scholar

  • Go to http://scholar.google.com.
  • Use the menu bars in the upper left to access settings
  • Under Search Results on the left side of the page, click on Library Links.
  • If there is no IU/IUPUI link already present, search for and select Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis - Find it @IUPUI
  • If you have access to other libraries, add them (not all libraries participate)
  • Click the Save button at the bottom of the page. This will make Find It @ IUPUI visible when searching Google Scholar
  • Clicking on Find It@IUPUI - If an Article link is found, click to access the full text. A Journal link will require extra steps to locate a specific article
  • If there are no electronic full text links, under More full-text options - Use Interlibrary Loan Services to Request from Another Library and select the IU School of Medicine Libraries Document Delivery link and log in to ILLiad using your IU username and passphrase.
