Things to Know Before Visiting

An IU School of Medicine ID allows library visitors to gain entry into the library. Non-IU School of Medicine researchers may use the call box by the library entrance or contact the circulation desk at 317-274-7182 to request entrance.

The 24-hour study area is available to IUSM medical students, residents, and fellows after hours by CrimsonCard access. Email circulation at libmcirc@iu.edu to request card access.

The library is closed University Holidays and may have special, limited hours during holiday periods.

Research Help:

You can reach our librarians by email at MEDLREF@IU.EDU. This account is monitored Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and responses are generally received within 2 hours of receiving an email. Chat hours begin 30 minutes after opening and end 30 minutes prior to closing each day.

Parking

The nearest visitor parking is the University Hospital Parking Garage, 600 University Blvd. or the Lockfield Parking Garage,1050 Wishard Blvd. Please visit the IUPUI Parking and Transportation Services for details


Bicycle Rack

There is a bicycle rack located outside the Walnut Street Entrance to the Medical Research and Library Building. Please visit Bike IUPUI for information and tips on parking your bike on campus. As with any college campus, bicycle theft is a constant problem. There are ways to substantially reduce the chances of your bicycle being stolen, please visit Bike IUPUI or the IUPD IUPUI for theft prevention tips.
