General Information & Frequently Asked Questions
Librarians are assigned to different departments and campuses - and specialize in particular research areas. To search for your department or campus librarian, check the liaison list. Search by subject in our libguides list.
Contact your departmental or campus library liaison for assistance with:
- Literature searches or other research for grant proposals, publications, presentations, research, or educational program development
- NIH Public Access issues and creating NIH Biosketches
- Systematic reviews or advanced multi-database literature searches
- Publishing information, including journal impact factors, instructions for authors, etc.
All active IU School of Medicine faculty, staff and students who have an IU network ID (username and passphrase) should have access to Medical Library resources.
- Authentication is required with these IU School of Medicine credentials (username, passphrase, and DUO) to access most resources.
- If you are unsure about the status of your IU username, search the IU directory; if listed, then an IU School of Medicine network ID should already be established. For assistance with activating your account or resetting the passphrase, contact HTS (Health Technology Services) at 317-274-5336.

All faculty, residents, fellows, and graduate students are granted an employee print allotment from IU. This print allotment can be used at any public UITS printer on the IU Indianapolis campus, information on the allotments are in the UITS knowledge base. To check your current print allotment balance, please visit the Crimson Card homepage.
- Click "Manage Your ID Card" and login.
- Select "My Accounts" > "Balance History".
NOTE:
- IU Indianapolis print allotments are accepted on Ruth Lilly Medical Library printers
- All faculty & residents must purchase additional funds via their Crimson Card in order to print at Ruth Lilly Medical Library.
