Liaison Program

Medical librarians are assigned as liaisons to each IU School of Medicine campus, department, institute center and unit. Librarians are actively involved in all phases of the MD curriculum and work with residents and fellows training as part of the school’s graduate medical education program. Find your librarian.

Librarians provide a wide variety of classes based on the needs of IU School of Medicine students, faculty and staff. A library liaison can work with faculty members to develop a class tailored to a specific specialty, curriculum or research assignment.

Liaison Program

Library users can access a Medical Librarian for assistance with questions about the library’s resources or services; literature searches or other research for grant proposals, publications, presentations, research or educational program development; author searching, citation tracking and altmetrics; NIH Public Access issues, NIH biosketches; basics of data curation, data preservation and data sharing; and help using Endnote.

Library Technology

Indiana University School of Medicine has a vast array of technology resources that are specific to education, research and clinical practice, and the Library Technology Team actively pursues collaborative projects that enhance learning spaces and benefit students, staff, faculty and researchers.

The Makerspace

The Library Technology Team manages the Library’s website and works to integrate technology into the Library’s learning spaces (The Nexus) and services. The Team also explores health care applications of social media, mobile apps, 3D printing, and augmented and virtual reality.
