During the month of August, the Ruth Lilly Medical Library will be celebrating 35 years in its current location in the Medical Research and Library Building on the IU Indianapolis campus. We've pulled photographs, artifacts, and other historical materials from our archives and spotlighted them in an exhibit titled: “From 'Windows to the Future' to 'Building the Future': Celebrating 35 Years of the Ruth Lilly Medical Library". You can view items in the exhibit in the display case located on the first floor of the library next to the elevators.
Items featured in the exhibit include:
- Photo of medical students studying in old medical library located in Emerson Hall, circa 1953.
- Medical Research and Library building construction photos, 1988-1989
- Interior photo of Medical Research and Library building during construction, circa 1989
- Indiana University School of Medicine Library Fact Sheet comparing old and new library building amenities and services, January 27, 1989
- Indiana University Hospitals Center magazine featuring new Medical Research and Library Building on cover, Spring 1989
- Medical Research and Library Building dedication ceremony commemorative paperweight, May 20, 1989
- "Windows to the Future" video tour of new Medical Research and Library building produced by IUSM Medical Educational Resources Program, May 3, 1989
- Ruth Lilly Medical Library naming dedication ceremony program, May 18,1991

We invite you to stop by to take a look at the exhibit. Included below are a few photos for our regional campuses who might not get a chance to visit the exhibit in person.
Regardless of where we are located, we continue to proudly serve all nine IU School of Medicine campuses - and continue to look to the future!
