Please join us in recognizing Amy Blevins, MALS, Associate Director for Public Services at the Ruth Lilly Medical Library, on being named the recipient of the Dr. Elizabeth Ryan Award. This distinction honors exemplary service and leadership within the School of Medicine’s Curriculum Council Steering Committee (CCSC). The CCSC is the governing body that oversees the School’s undergraduate medical curriculum, ensuring coherence, relevance, and adherence to LCME standards across all nine campuses.
The Award is in honor of Elizabeth Ryan, EdD, who served as Director and Associate Dean for the Northwest-Gary Campus of the School of Medicine from 2018-2023, and Associate Dean for Educational Integration and Professor of Clinical Family Medicine from 2023 to 2024. Dr. Ryan was passionate about her work in advancing medical education. As noted by Amy’s colleagues on the CCSC, “Amy brings a spirit of collaboration and excellence to every meeting, and her outstanding support during the LCME visit further underscores her dedication the mission of IUSM.” The library faculty and staff, along with Bradley Allen, MD, PhD, MACP, FIDSA, Executive Associate Dean for Educational Affairs, Ashley S. Inman, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology & Medical Laboratory Medicine, and Paul Ko, MD, Med, Senior Associate Dean, Accreditation, Associate Dean for Curriculum, Medical Student Education and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, join in recognizing Amy’s hard work, dedication, and spirit of collaborative engagement to ensure the success of our medical students.
